About Me
Hi there!
I’m Andy, a physical therapist and trainer.
My practice is heavily influenced by my experience with chronic pain patients and training people in general physical preparedness or sport.
I have been using behavior change coaching with clients since 2016.
My practice is more than just treating you in person, my experience allows me to treat you entirely, no matter what your goals are and no matter what’s stopping you; pain, nutrition, exercise, habits.
My Goal
My goal is to give my clients and patients a positive movement experience.
If you are someone in pain chances are, right in this very moment, movement is not your friend.
I want to show you how your experience, your mind and your movement can influence your pain experience.
Where it started…
Demonstrating one way to modify a pull up.
I started my career as a coach training people the beginner movements for strength and conditioning classes, eventually, group training at CrossFit Hud in 2012 and eventually part-time while I was getting a Master’s in Criminal Justice in 2014 until 2016.
In 2015, I decided I wanted to go to physical therapy school to be able to help those in pain. I needed to go back to school and complete every required class to get accepted to a program.
In 2016, I started behavior change coaching clients remotely to help with their nutrition and fitness goals. This helped me understand what it means to make connections with people through active listening and better coach people through guidance rather than “guru-ism”.
In 2018, I started physical therapy school and quickly learned this is where you only learn the basics.
The evolving profession of physical therapy/musckuloskeletal rehab doesn’t simply start or end with school.
All through school I learned what I needed to in order to succeed but I was constantly online and deep into podcasts about client/patient management, clinical reasoning, research and learning other ways of helping my future patients.
I found online mentors to guide my critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills beyond the classroom.
All throughout school, I kept expanding my reasoning and critical thinking until I graduated. From there, I started the process all over again realizing it never stops.
Finally, I graduated in 2021 with my doctorate in Physical Therapy and followed my wife to Madison, WI where I began treating and educating my patients.
